Norma Q-Brown
Family Care Director
What do you do at Be Broken? I encourage and equip parents to build strong, trusting relationships with their children so they can become the “safe” person they turn to for conversations about emotions, sex, and other important topics.
What brought you to Be Broken? God brought me to Be Broken. I was not looking for a job, but He knew what was ahead. I was first introduced to Be Broken in March 2022 when I heard John Fort speak. I was immediately intrigued by his approach to the topic of sex and sexuality. Little did I know that two years later, I would be part of this amazing team.
Favorite passage of Scripture? "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:6-7). This passage reminds me that God is in control, and my job is to live humbly under His sovereignty. I love how it ends, not with a reminder of His power, though that would be true—but with a reminder of His care. It could have said, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He is all-powerful,” but instead, it says, “because He cares for you.” It is intimate, deeply personal and comforting.
What do you do in your time off? I love to travel and relax!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be, and why? I would love the ability to “borrow” other people’s superpowers—kind of like Rogue from the X-Men. I enjoy being versatile, and having access to whatever superpower is needed in the moment that would help me tackle any challenge more efficiently.
Favorite food/drink? I love Spanish food! My favorite drinks are Coca-Cola, coconut water, and horchata.
